I featured Injap Sia II already on my old blog last June 2012 in NewstrendzPH. Those were the time that “Mang Inasal” is booming and I was curious of who he is. That is the main reason, I did some research and consolidated everything that I got.

Here is Injap Sia II story of success and his “Mang Inasal” business.

Edgar “Injap” Sia II is well known on his remarkable “Mang Inasal” or Mr. Barbeque concept. Who will think that unlimited rice will be patronized by many Filipinos?

Sia was born on 1977. He came from a businessman family. Apparently he took up Architecture instead of business course. His business started on their businesses such as Four Season Hotel, Mister Labada, and Injap Color Express.

On those businesses, his expertise on managing business has been mold where he put up “Mang Inasal” in Iloilo on December 12, 2003.

His nickname “Injap” came from “Intsik-Japan” where he was originally from China. And his mother, Jaruda is a Japanese.

The total concept of his business caters pride of Filipino such as, free “sabaw” (soup), unlimited rice, unlimited coke, barbeque, “sisig”, “leche flan”, and “halo-halo”.

As of March 2012 Mang Inasal branches are 433 with14,200 workers. He aims for the store 500th branch soon worldwide. Just for the update, in 2019, it has 500 branches already. That is how vision is really important in life and in business.

In 2011, Jollibee bought 70% of Mang Inasal after paying P2.8 billion of its secret of recipe and system’s operation.

In 2014, Double Dragon Properties entered into Initial Public Offering. It was founded by Sia also way back 2009. That company is the developer of City Mall chains.
