I am an avid fan of life and wisdom; whether it is written and unwritten. I have finished watching the Youtube channel of “The Boy Abunda Talk Channel” about “The friends involved in the Christine Dacera Case tell their stories 1 year later”.

That is the main reason why I wrote this article. I want to impart my life lesson and the books that I am reading about life, about God, about wisdom, about learnings and courage, and how future is so bright for those who believe.

There are two moments on that video that I get emotional. Those are the time when Gigo’s mom died and when Valentine’s dad died. I do not really know the truth of Christine Dacera case and I do not know the real story behind but there are many videos that portray the truth but still only God knows everything.

As the interview shows, I saw how Christine’s friends suffered and under coping up on how to move on after the incident and on how they handle this challenge on their personal lives.

As I relate on their issue, I have and had issues with legal actions and judgment in the Philippines. I experienced how my father has been killed and found out his body under decomposition for three (3) days. I really do not know the story behind but what I did and my family did is to forgive. The other case we have now is a civil case in our right for our land but it is still under arraignment. The case started before I went to Singapore to work; until now we are still waiting for the court’s final judgment. That was 6 years ago already. So long right?

I do not have the power to change the law in the Philippines but if ever I will be given a chance to change, I will take initiative to review the law to make it more simpler and faster. It is a fact that cases are expensive but it takes longer before a case has been dismissed or a judge decided to take the judgment. It consumes a lot of time, energy, money, and patience. Moreover, sometimes there were cases that judgment is not fair but not all because I still believe that there are more good people than bad. If you are part of the Philippine government system, I would suggest to take an initiative to make it simpler. I saw how many transactions in Singapore how they make it easier and faster as part of their vision of being a Smart Nation. I believe in equality and equal opportunity. I believe that Philippines will be one of the richest countries in the world in the future if the government, the churches, and the citizens will help each other for a common good; a better Philippines.

Going back to Christine’s case, I am merciful with her friends and her family as well. It was one of the trending topic on social media worldwide for many Filipinos before. It’s like they all become victim of many negative netizens who normally judge based on what the media wants to broadcast; without knowing the fact and truth. Most people normally judged by default, but less people are more responsible of what they talked, shared, and posted.

Two things that I learned on the interview are forgiveness and faith. Forgiveness can set you free. It is free and you don’t need a lot of money to do it. At first you do not have the habit to forgive, you can start it small, until such time you can easily forgive. Forgive yourself, others, and the circumstance itself! Regret may be part of our lives but having regrets will not really help you. You are condemning others and even yourself and it is not really healthy. That is what Jesus imparted when He walked on this planet. Forgiveness may or may not be for others but forgiveness is for your own self.

I have this belief that I learn in life. Self-healing started with you. Self-love is not selfishness it is a way of making your love tank full. Once you overflow, others will be benefited and you will be a light for others as well.

When I was a kid, religion taught me to think of others first but when I face the reality of life and found many life wisdom, you cannot help others if you are incomplete… if you are damaged… if you are struggling… if you have disease… you need to be whole and be complete first. If you are complete, people will just come and go, and you will experience peace and freedom when they left you.

This is the bible verse that I am talking about.

30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31The second is this: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:30-31

If you do not love yourself, you cannot love God and love others. So your priority is yourself first. God loves you already because God is perfect. He sent His Son as a propitiation for your sin. God’s inner core is love; His default action and ways is to love us. So taking care to yourself is your responsibility. Once you are full and overflowing that is the only way to share it and give to others. You cannot give what you do not have!

That is what faith is all about. Even if we do not know, we need to trust the process, trust ourselves and trust in God. That is the gist that I found on Christine’s friends statement on the Youtube video.

Hope this article and this website will be one way to help other people to be wise and to be light for others. Once we light each other, I believe that darkness will soon be dissipate on this planet where understanding, love, joy and peace be multiplied in our spirit.
