Mindfulness meditation helps me a lot during my second attack of my severe depression. It was recommended to me by my doctor when I was in Singapore.
Through mindfulness, my awareness increases. Mindfulness exercise makes me aware at the present moment without judging my thought. It helps me control my emotion, my response in a situation, makes my body calmer, gives me peace, and makes my sleep better without any medication.Sleeping better healed me from the inside including my traumas and heartaches. I know and I believe that Faith in God also helped me. It gives me more positive attitude when dealing with others especially family relationship. Actually, my compassion goes higher and I became more understanding with other people and situations.
When I searched for the mindfulness practices, it was originally rooted from Buddhism. But it became a practice in the world of psychiatry and it benefited mental health.
Staying focus is one of the things you can gain from practicing mindfulness. Actually, I have featured on this blog already, the 5-Finger-Mindfulness that I learned from my doctor in Singapore.
When I checked this practice in Christianity, this was also imparted by Jesus Christ in four gospels written in the Bible. He imparted it on Luke 10:41-42 (NKJV).
“41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
The main lesson of the verse above is to focus on one thing. This will make your mind functions well with clarity and positivity. When I study life, I believe that religion or spirituality is connected with each other. But because of human imperfection some people are into debate which in reality it will not really helps to attain peace.
You can also read in Norman Vincent Peale book, “The Power of Positive Thinking”. The author imparted that to gain easy power, a mind should be relaxed. Tension is one of the primary problems of our today’s world. Life will be easy and enjoying when do everything in a restful way. A slow, less hectic, and less pressure will result a more enjoyable life.
Through meditation, I can easily let go thoughts of regret, anxiousness, disappointment, anger, frustrations, and annoying talks.
Actually, when I become restful, my mind functions with clarity and more positive thoughts. No one taught me! Through my practice of meditation every day, my life becomes easier. I became more loving and calmer.
There are many online articles on meditation; you can check and apply other methods that best fit to you. On my end, I practice deep breathing, prayer, and reading the Bible. After I am done with deep breathing my mind can easily soak up to understand God’s word and be more optimistic in life.
By the way, mindfulness meditation is quite tough if you are starting. Once you practice it more, it will be enjoyable and easier. Same in life, you need to learn then easy ways can be attained.
As a whole practice of mindfulness, my life is a living testimony of how good it is. I am grateful to God for all His love towards me and of course to Jesus who saved me from my spiritual warfare.
I therefore conclude now that life is easy and life is so good to enjoy and have some fun. The mere essence or purpose of life is to LIVE.
