Your life depends on your perspective and belief system in life. The Bible is the most trusted book of belief systems and proverbs of all time. It also teaches believers the life full of joy, blessings, and abundance. That book will give you motivation and God’s faith to win and be victorious in all aspects of life.

But there are people who expect worst than best. On this article I will teach you how you can escape from a victim mindset to victorious mindset by expecting the best in life.

I will tell you my own personal experience. I was depressed twice. So, I asked a question why I experienced it twice?

I asked help from doctors and counsellors; Singapore and Philippines. Most of the things we discussed during my counselling session is my thought pattern. They all have suggestions but I did my own research. Every professional advice is unique. So, I choose the best doctor and counsellor that matched my desire.

I seek God more and train my mind to be mindful of the present… of NOW. The first step that I did is to observe my thought and how I behave. There are thoughts of good, bad, evil, happy and so many thoughts. I just take it as a thought with no reaction on it. That awareness made me determined that I can change it with God’s help.

Before, I was dwelling on negativity, I cried and I feel that my life is miserable. I became fearful and anxious. That is the reason why I was always down. Then my doctor advised me to read Dr. Norman Vincent Peale book, “The Power of Positive Thinking”.

I learned from that book, that Faith is essential in Life.

With God’s help; by prayer and petition I changed my church. When I changed, the pastor always imparted us to read the Bible and have communion with Jesus, our dear Lord and Savior.

It is a good habit now that I am reading the Bible despite of my imperfection. Little by little I see light and understand things one by one. My mind is renewing every day and I am learning not to dwell on dramas, loneliness, and all the problems from social media and TV news. I am no longer interested on reading Facebook comments and the complaints of many people. I prioritize to make peace with everything; my past, myself, other people, my enemies and always see God as my helper.

Actually, I was a complainer also. But by attending church, God says believe in Him and do not be anxious, nor fear, nor worry. That started my life as a young Christian.

Moreover, what I become hooked in a Bible verse (Mark 9:23), “If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believe.”

It’s a miracle and it is truly good if you always expect good things. Our pastor shared also a message to us to make it a habit of having a positive expectation of good things to come.

I suggest to you to practice to expect the best and eventually the best will happen to your life.

To summarize this article below are the nuggets of wisdom to take.

  • Be an expectant of Good because God is so good (the Creator of the Universe).
  • Try to be mindful by focusing awareness on the present. This will help your mind to experience the gift of peace in the present and being aware of the present. Mindfulness Meditation helps me.
  • Believe in good and good will be yours. When good things come and focus on the good things, you can experience abundance of blessings.
  • If you have a Bible, I am encouraging you to read the book of Proverbs. The book of Proverbs will surely help you to exercise wisdom. That book was written by King Solomon; the most famous King for His wisdom and wealth.
