This article is a personal experience of mine how I earn 1 million a year from my employment. This amount is very little for many people who are earning more than 1M a year and it is very big for someone who are earning just a hundred thousand a year.
Here is the story of my 1M salary from employment.
I was depressed way back 2014 and I decided to leave Philippines to enjoy and relax in Singapore. Way back then I was a professor. I love gadgets and part of my tour is to shop some electronic items because I am an IT guy and Singapore is very nice country to buy IT stuff because it is cheaper to buy in Singapore than in my country due to tax and importation.
An IT guy is someone who studied computers and love electronics stuff for those who do not know.
As a tourist in Singapore, I was allowed to stay on that beautiful country for 30 days. With that my depression goes down and I was healed. I really enjoyed all the beautiful scenery of the city such as Gardens by the Bay, Sentosa, Cloud Forest, and of course Chinese foods.
While staying at the hostel, someone asked me about my specialisation. When she discovered that my experience is in line with technology, she asked to try to apply in Singapore. At first, I was hesitant but I just tried and see my luck. Nothing to lose! Most of the companies hired online because Singapore vision is a to be a Smart Nation. It’s very convenient to apply without sweating and spending much time to print your resume.
In just a week I got a call and the call continued every day. I got an offered from an IT Company then followed by a MNC (Multi National Company) which fall under electronics distribution. The salary they posted was S$3,000 – $4,000. I chose the MNC one.
Since I was locally hired and do not have any experienced abroad, I lowered my asking salary to S$3,500 (Php122,500). During the interview, there is a negotiation and they asked me to make it to S$3,100 (Php108,500). Because it is a good opportunity to one of the richest countries in the world, I grabbed it. So annually I was earning 1M a year.
Actually, it was my dreamed to work in an environment with different races. I normally imagined myself talking to different nationalities. I fell that I was one of the casts in Harry Potter movies. Below are the photos as a proof of my employment and salary in Singapore.
Now that I am a freelancer, I am currently learning Facebook Advertising where I can earn as much as Php 100K a month as what other students on the online class I am attending. It is also promising. You can check testimonies on this link —> HERE.
I believe that IT career is way far more getting better in the future. So if you really love technology, you can take a leap of faith of studying courses that are in line with Information Technology.
