I was a Christ believer that is living based on Old Testament of Laws. I was in prison of perfection and complying with all the laws, until such time I got a revelation of God’s Grace when I decided to find a church when I was working in Singapore. On my own understanding I go from my former church, I need to do good to enter heaven (perfectly) but when I read the truth in the Bible, I found God’s grace.
What is Grace?
Grace is unearned, undeserved and unmerited favor of God. Like salvation, heaven is free for those who believed in Christ finish work. This information will set you free from all bondage of works and rituals. I came from a church that has doctrine of demanding believer to pray a prayer 3 times after confession.
But when I read the New Testament, Jesus is imparting Faith based life.
Then comes the tragic and most painful experience in life when I was diagnosed with severe depression that I pushed myself to seek God. I lost my mind (no peace), my will, my rational thinking, my health, and some of my hard earn money. I was poor in everything such as my Spirit, my soul, my body and my finances.
During the time I seek God and I found Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me and when you search me with all your hear.” Then I found Psalm 34:10, “The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.”
As I seek more of Grace from God, I found out that the more I struggle, the more I sin and the more I became stressful. When I became stressful, it limits me to think and to work well. From Grace, I learn the value of receiving good things from God of all the things I need.
That’s the thing I learned from our pastor. He mentioned that when the thought or voice disqualify you to receive the unmerited favor from God we need to look and turn to the finish work of Jesus. That is how your faith will arise.
One thing that I learned also is to cast all my cares to God because God cares for me. That is how I experienced more love from God and not on my own works but of God.
Life is free. Enjoyment is free. Prayer is free. With Grace you can receive all good things from God for free!
