After my 2 seasons of depressions; one is severe and the other one is depression. I got one when I worked as an Associate Professor and the other one was when I worked in Singapore as Business Intelligence Analyst.
Working in Singapore is the toughest time which I experienced emptiness that leads me to seek God. In my mind, there is a thought that says, “There is No God”. But deep inside of me, there is an inner promptings or voice that there is a BIG GOD.
Even though my mind doesn’t work well that time. I seek God in every religion in Singapore. I asked my Muslim friend and Buddhist friends about their belief. Then I read books. One of the books I read was “Search Inside Yourself” by Chade-Meng Tan. Then I attended his book signing. During his talk on the book signing, that author mentioned to us that he also seek love and he found out that the highest form or love can only be found in Christianity. It is “Agape” that means “the fatherly love of God for humans”.
While there is lack of faith in me, I still keep pushing myself to discover God’s goodness.
After seeking God from Muslim and Buddhism, I seek different Christian denominations. It is painful on my end because our mind is critical if we believe in everything. Our mind based on my experience should believe in one truth. Too much belief system and too much rules ruin of my belief in one God. So, I went to different churches and investigate what their belief systems including traditions that will make me happy including Christmas. Other churches do not believe in Christmas. Then I found New Creation Church (NCC). It is one of the best and nicest church I ever found. It is totally different. This church makes my soul settle in peace and God showed to me that NCC is kingdom of righteousness.
During the time that my soul and my spirit is thirsty with goodness and blessings, God showed to me little by little who He is. The following are the things that I found.
- El Shaddai : “The God Who Is More Than Enough.”
- God is Love
- God heals all diseases
- God is our provider
- God is our redeemer
- God is our comforter
- God is good all the time
- God builds
- God of Life and not of Death
- He is perfectly good and

10A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.
11I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep – John 10:10-11
“Why do you spend money for what is not bread,
And your wages for what does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,
And let your soul delight itself in abundance.” – Isaiah 55:2
